Stephen King just announced on his website an upcoming book called Full Dark, No Stars which will be released in November. It will feature four novellas. One of the stories called 'Fair Extension' is about "Harry Streeter, who is suffering from cancer, (and) decides to make a deal with the devil but, as always, there is a price to pay." One of the other stories - '1922' - takes place in Hemingford, Nebraska, which was the home of Mother Abigail in The Stand. The collection of stories will be released by Simon & Schuster. This is the first collection of four novellas from King since Four Past Midnight back in 1990.
It looks like King is continuing his religious ties or themes that he has touched on before, such as Needful Things and The Stand. It doesn't sound like the story with Hemingford, Nebraska will be in any way directly tied to The Stand, however. I guess we'll see.
