"Beginning a year after the events of The Firstborn, the story follows Hannah Rice as she attempts to recover three teenage girls who have been abducted by a human trafficking ring and Devin Bathurst as he attempts to thwart the racially motivated assassination of an African-American politician. Working together, the Firstborn can see the past, present, and future. A mysterious and unstable individual named Angelo—who possesses all three gifts—warns that Devin and Hannah must not pursue their mutual goals because it is a trap set by the 'Thresher'—the ancient spiritual enemy of the Firstborn, whose purpose is to tear them apart."
