One half of everybody's favorite End Times and apocalyptic writers, Tim LaHaye, has partnered up with Craig Parshall for the latest chapter in doomsday novels entitled
Edge of the Apocalypse. Now, I'm not making fun of Tim LaHaye or the
Left Behind series. I actually believe in the rapture and the things that go with it. It's just funny that everything LaHaye does steers us to the end of the world again somehow. I'm covering this because I figure it's technologically based and in the future, so it "could" be construed as science fiction - am I stretching it a bit? Maybe. Here's the description of the book:
"Former U.S. spy-plane hero Joshua Jordan creates the world's most sophisticated missile defense system to secure America against new enemies. But he finds himself trapped between international and domestic assailants who conspire to steal the weapon. As world events show signs of the apocalypse, will Jordan pay a personal price to save the nation he loves?"
I probably won't get around to reading this book. I've never read any of the
Left Behind books. I still have haunting nightmares about guillotines from my parents making me watch those
Thief in the Night movies from the 70's. Thanks, Mom and Dad.
