Sean Bean's Black Death Has Overtaken U.K.

There's no word yet as to when we can expect to see this over here in the States, but the new film Black Death has been released in the U.K. and features Lord of the Rings's star Sean Bean, David Warner (The Omen, Doctor Who, Sweeney Todd), and Carice van Houten (Repo Men, Valkyrie). The movie centers around "a knight and a monk who investigate reports of people rising from the dead." According to a review done by U.K. film blog Hey U Guys, the film is very "overtly about faith, religion and superstition but (it) very cleverly constructs a narrative in which both sides represented in the film are held up to scrutiny." Synopsis:

In medieval England fallen under the shadow of the Black Death, a young monk called Osmund is charged in leading a fearsome knight, Ulric and his group of mercenaries to a remote marsh. Their quest is to hunt down a necromancer - someone able to bring the dead back to life. Torn between his love of God and the love of a young woman, Osmund discovers the necromancer, a mysterious beauty called Langiva. After Langiva reveals her Satanic identity and offers Osmund his hearts desire, the horror of his real journey begins.
