While at Texas Frightmare Weekend a couple of weeks back, I had the wonderful opportunity to talk to actor Doug Bradley, who plays the iconic horror figure Pinhead in all the Hellraiser movies. He was more than happy to discuss with me religion in horror and his thoughts on the subject. He also was pretty straight-up about his distaste for Hellraiser: Inferno, which was directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day The Earth Stood Still) who is a professed Christian. As far as the franchises' fans go, it seems to be mixed as to the love or hate for the film. Some say it's the best sequel to the series and others are upset because it's preachy and Pinhead isn't in it enough. After the jump, you can check out an audio interview I did with Mr. Bradley.
I recorded this on my Kodak Zi6 video camera, but there was no real good angle to get the actor on as he was standing behind his table at TFW, so it's just meant to be heard and not watched. It was a get it and go situation in a packed room. I noticed upon listening to the interview that I say "right" and "okay" a lot in response to what he is saying. That doesn't mean I agree with his points. I was just acknowledging his statements.
